Introducing Colin


Colin Radford

Tuition: Clarinet & Saxophone. Directs Music School Concert Band.
Level: Beginner to Advanced

Colin is originally from Wellingborough, and as a teenager he played the clarinet with the Kettering Symphony Orchestra, as well as a jazz-group, and saxophone with a rock-band based in Northampton.

In 1978 Colin moved to Chelsea Barracks in London to join the Band of the Grenadier Guards, when he travelled internationally and performed solos in various concert environments, as well as at home for BBC Radio 2 and ITV television.

In 1998 Colin moved to Cambridgeshire and left the Grenadier Guards in 2000, then completing a degree in music and a teacher-training course for secondary education. Colin has been involved in music education since 2005, and has most recently written compositions for clarinet, flute and saxophone solo, some of which are included in the current Associated Board music examination lists.

Colin has one daughter.
